I’m currently working with Eleanor Bramwell of BodyWise as instructional designer for a 1000 hr. Yoga Therapy Teacher Training. BodyWise offers a variety of yoga trainings which I highly recommend for informing your teaching or advancing your personal practice.

My favorite yoga retreat is a traditional style ashram on Paradise Island. Stellar teachers, a vibrant and inspiring community and natural beauty make for a refreshing training or yoga vacation. Recent trainings I’ve taken at Sivananda Bahamas include Yoga Nidra teacher training with Marc Halpern and LifeForce Yoga Teacher Training Level 1 with Amy Weintraub. The speakers at satsang are incredible and I thrive under the traditional meditation and yoga structure. Thanks to Swami Vishnudevananda for bringing these practices to the west!
Other great teachers to check out:

Dr. Halpern has been a groundbreaking leader in bringing Ayurvedic sciences to the USA, and in addition to several published books and CDs has a wonderful number of resources on diverse topics he makes available via his youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t-dgVhh768
Hari Kirin Kaur Kalsa, Kripalu
Hari Kirin offers regular art and yoga classes from her studio in Vermont as well as Kripalu center for wellness in Western Massachusetts. She was the first kundalini teacher I was blessed to take an intensive with and the energy is real!
Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health
It’s a bit of a drive from Baltimore but the world-class teachers at Kripalu make it more than worth it. I often drop by over winter break from the classroom as my holiday visits bring me halfway there. Sign up for a course or enjoy guest lectures and yoga and yoga dance classes or hiking in the Berkshires.
Kim Manfredi, Charm City Yoga
I have Kim to thank for inspiring me, helping me to heal, and leading me down the teacher’s path! She hired me to teach for her studio before I finished my first teacher training, and helped me to become the teacher I am today. She has since sold her chain of studios and retired and I’ve moved on to other studios, but I believe she still teaches sometimes for YogaWorks. You can follow her blog and writing here:
